🍽️ Hasan Pasha Meatballs Recipe (For 6 People)

🧾 Ingredients

For meatballs

  • 600 grams of ground beef
  • 1 grated onion
  • 2 cloves of garlic (crushed)
  • 1 tea glass of crackers flour (or stale bread crumbs)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1 teaspoon red pepper powder
  • A few sprigs of finely chopped parsley (optional)

For the puree

  • 4 medium potatoes
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tea glass of milk
  • Salt
  • Black pepper
  • Grated nutmeg (optional)

For the sauce

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste
  • 1 glass of hot water
  • 1 tablespoon oil

🥣 Preparation Steps

1. Prepare the Meatballs:

  • Add the ground meat, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, egg, spices and optional parsley to a large bowl and knead well.

  • Take pieces of the mixture slightly larger than walnuts, roll them and press the middle with your finger to give it a bowl shape.

  • Prepare all the meatballs in this way and place them on a baking tray covered with baking paper.

2. Pre-Cook the Meatballs:

  • Bake in a preheated oven at 180 degrees for about 15 minutes (to fix the shape of the meatballs).

3. Prepare the Puree:

  • Boil and peel the potatoes, then puree them.

  • Add butter, milk, salt, black pepper and nutmeg and mix well. (The consistency should be squeezable.)

4. Fill the Meatballs:

  • Fill the meatballs with the puree using a piping bag or spoon.

5. Prepare the Sauce:

  • Lightly fry the tomato paste in oil, then add the hot water and mix.

6. Final Baking in the Oven:

  • Pour the sauce over the meatballs (not over the puree, but on the edges).

  • Put the tray back in the oven and bake at 180 degrees for about 20 minutes.

🌿 Serving Suggestion

You can serve it with rice pilaf or seasonal salad. If you add grated cheddar cheese on top and bake it, you can also get a more delicious presentation.
